District 6: Building a Platform for Upcoming Artists

District 6 was created by me, Sean 'Shiggs' Higgins, our creative director, Tash 'Noel' Morgan, and our 2 artists, Morgan 'Mz' Davies and Lennon 'Cabra' Moorcroft. As a response to an issue within the live music industry that seems to be growing. Over the years, we have seen more and more live venues shut their doors, resulting in fewer performance opportunities for artists looking to perfect their craft. Artists are being limited in their ability to not only perform but also to connect with new fans in a more intimate way.

I founded ES6 Collective in 2025. And since then, I have been blessed enough to be involved in a number of different projects, none more important to me than District 6. Because this event was designed as a platform to showcase new Hip-Hop and R&B talent, my aim was not only to provide artists with a stage to perform, but also to create a setting that fostered genuine audience connection and energy, and a place where expressive development could take place. This is something that cannot be replicated online, through streams, or in content.

Our first event, which we curated, brought together 8 separate artists and an energetic live audience in Dalston, North London. The ES6 Team created an unforgettable mutual experience for performers and fans alike. From planning the event and booking the artists who performed to marketing the night, I oversaw every element. This meant developing strategies such as artist-led promotion and targeted digital advertising. By overseeing all these aspects, I can proudly say the ES6 team worked hard to deliver what many people called a huge success.

One clear outcome was the level of engagement we created in this space. The response we saw, not only from the artists performing but also from the crowd, showed us that there is an evident demand for artist showcases like District 6. And our next event will be BIGGER.

Yes, you read it right: since our first event, District 6 has already begun to evolve into a series of monthly events we will put on for you. We now have multiple dates booked, and improvements are being made across areas such as venue negotiation and content production. This means making more use of our in-house media team to capture moments and promote the platform more efficiently.

As we envision the future, the goal for District 6 is to scale it into a platform recognized not only by emerging artists but also by industry professionals and fans internationally. We look to start combining our live events with the development of our artists. Here at ES6, we strive to build a model that both supports creative growth while continuing commercial viability.

District 6 is no longer simply an event. It's a movement. The foundation of a platform that is designed to expand alongside the artists it supports. If you're an emerging artist looking to perform, please get in touch using the form below.
